City of Tulsa Announces Near Completion of Zink Dam
If you drive down Riverside Drive in Tulsa, you’ve witnessed construction crews make Zink Dam at the Arkansas River accessible to the public.
Almost There: Replacing the old Zink Dam with a new one is a voter-approved $48M project that will revolutionize the way people experience the Arkansas River near the Gathering Place. For decades, Tulsans had no safe access to the Arkansas River near the old pedestrian bridge, until now. It’s 97.5% complete.
Dam Dedication: See what we did there? Before inviting people to have fun on and around the water, the City of Tulsa will be testing it to monitor for pollution and citizens can weigh in at a public meeting Feb 27th. Zink Dam will open Labor Day weekend.
