Tulsa Mayfest Announced for May 10th Return, Applications Open

It’s the event that has showcased the best of the best artists, eats, and music makers for more than 50 years. Mayfest is coming back to Tulsa!

  • Mark Mayfest Calendars: The University of Tulsa is officially taking applications for vendors and volunteers to participate in Mayfest 2024. While art enthusiasts are the main stroke of the Mayfest painting’s landscape, the food and entertainment are a big deal too.

  • The Showcase Set-up: Those who want to apply as visual artists can display and sell their work in a 10x10 space for all three days of Mayfest. Vendor fees start at $350 for the weekend. Musicians who want to perform a 30-45 minute set can apply. Comedians, dancers, poets, artists, and other entertainment acts are invited too!

Tulsa Woman to Defend Her World Pizza Champion Title in March

Tara Hattan started working in the pizza business at 16 and she’s sliced up her skills to restaurant co-owner and World Pizza Champion for acrobatics.

  • Pass the Pie: Tara is tops when it comes to making the perfect pizza and wings at her Mother Road Market Restaurant Zasa’s Pizza. She also manages the kitchen at Andolini’s where she originally started spinning the dough that led her to the 2021 Championship win.

  • Spin and Slice: The World Pizza Champions is an international nonprofit that raises money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Last year it raised over $40,000. Tara is headed to Las Vegas in March to defend her title at the International Pizza Expo that takes place March 19-21.

You can put any new business idea into action with the Tulsa Idea Challenge happening May 4th and 5th.

  • Inventions Happen: The Tulsa Idea Challenge hosted by TulsaRemote and 36 Degrees North is an entrepreneurial workshop and competition for Tulsans to learn how to collaborate and transform an idea into action in just two days.

  • Rookie Round-up: Tulsa Idea Challenge 2024 is an awesome opportunity for anyone new to the world of entrepreneurship. About 200 people will learn the proven, world-class frameworks for testing early stage ideas for business. No experience is needed. In fact, rookies are the ideal candidate.

FC Tulsa Announces 2024 Soccer Pre-Season Schedule

Oklahoma’s premier professional soccer club will light up the night at ONEOK Field for the 2024 USL Championship Season, but there’s fun to be had beforehand.

  • Something to Kick Around: The team is returning to the Western Conference and as a result there will be 17 home games to enjoy this season. The 34-week regular USL Championship season kicks off on March 9th. You can catch some early action as the pre-season calendar is out!

  • Goooaaaalllllll: Home fans can mark their calendars for preseason matches between college and professional competition that will begin this weekend. These match ups include ORU, Missouri State, and Sporting KC.

Admit it, you know you want to climb inside Discovery Lab’s tape tunnel or ball pit when you take the kids. Well, now’s your chance!

  • Kid at Heart: Tulsa’s Discovery Lab is hosting an adults only event and it’s called ‘Discovery After Dark.’ It’s happening Friday night at 7p. Art is the theme and having fun is the goal. Tie-dye your own t-shirt and balloon splatter your own painting.

  • Lights Out: Discovery After Dark offers sweet sips for those 21 and older. There will be food of course and no adult event is complete without a live DJ and science demonstrations. So grab your cotton candy and discover the lab we all love!
