Downtown Tulsa Dining is Dynamic! New Spots Open Often, But Here Are Some Classics

Coney Island Hot Weiners, Steakfinger House, Mexicali Border

It seems there’s a new downtown Tulsa hotspot to check out on the daily but let’s not forget these tried and true classics for lunch and dinner.

  • Hot-dogs, Hamburgers, and Habanero : Three timeless classics of Tulsa’s landscape are mentioned as TulsaPeople’s classics. Many of them have been around since downtown Tulsa was booming with oil and gas companies. Coney Island Hot Weiners opened in 1926. Onions or no onions? Thats the most important question you’ll be asked there. The menu consists of only the best basics, coneys, cheese and chili fries, Frito pie and tamales.

  • Deliciousness For Decades: Mexicali Border has been a Tex-Mex treat in downtown Tulsa for 30 years with its fantastic fajitas, cheese enchiladas and don’t forget the ever famous Julio’s House Margarita. The Steakfinger House has been serving up golden deep-fried steak pieces for nearly 50 years. The noted nostalgic spot will serve up some good ole burgers and fries too.

See Osage County Hot Spots Before ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Opens October 20th

Bartlesville Boom

Leonardo DiCaprio got to see for himself just how great the State of Oklahoma is. While his dressing room trailer is all packed up and Killers of the Flower Moon will soon debut, it’s your turn to tour the Osage County sites that are most popular.

  • Bartlesville Boom: While the movie scenes where primarily based in Pawhuska, Bartlesville served as a base with some sets being built there. Crews from Killers of the Flower Moon enjoyed Bartlesville’s Boom! Downtown B-ville is home to new restaurants like Palace Rooms and businesses, but there’s also attention on the classic nostalgia of the Price Tower which is Frank Lloyd Wright’s only skyscraper, the Bartlesville Kiddie Park and the terrific trails of the Pathfinder Parkway.

  • Pawhuska Pride: It’s one of the only towns where you can see real life cowboys walking the sidewalks of Main Street. Pawhuska is perfect for a weekend getaway with the family. The Pioneer Woman Mercantile offers fresh coffee, pastries and gift shop treasures you won’t find anywhere else. Pawhuska was home to the Killer’s of the Flower Moon set and it’s a must see!
