New Year, New Restaurant: Isla’s Kitchen Grand Opening Tomorrow

Isla’s Southern Kitchen is having a grand opening Thursday and you are invited! The cutest little corner store inside is already up and running.

  • About The Restaurant: Isla’s Kitchen will have some of ‘the best pies in the state’ at the restaurant located near ONEOK Field in downtown Tulsa. Some menu favorites are the chicken fried steak, blackened redfish, biscuits and gravy and the shrimp and grits.

  • Test Run: Connor’s Corner Store is already open. It features meals ready to heat and serve from Isla’s Kitchen like soups, sauces, dressings, and other southern snacks. They also have wine, beer and cocktails to go. Connor’s features made in Oklahoma products like Dale & Daughter and Knight Pecan Farms and lots of swag.

The lineup of shows at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center in 2024 is exquisite and tickets are on sale now.

  • What’s Up Next: Ring in the new year with ‘the nicest kids in town’ as Broadway’s Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray dances into Tulsa. The comedy that inspired the blockbuster film runs through January 7th. Amahl and the Night Visitors, Annie, and Choir Boy are just a few musical performances that also kick off in January.

  • Fall in Love With February: Rosanne Cash weaves stories of her life, music career, and traveling with her father, Johnny in a single performance February 2nd. Cat Kid Comic Club takes the stage February 8th and Mean Girls the Musical wrangles the ‘cool moms’ February 24th and 25th. Don’t forget a sprinkling of Tulsa Symphony Orchestra performances and you’ll be singing a Tulsa tune in no time.

World Axe and Knife Throwing Championship Tosses Itself Into Tulsa

World Axe and Knife Throwing League

The best axe and knife throwers in the world will compete this spring in Tulsa for a piece of a $60,000 prize.

  • Sharp and Steady: The April 18-21 event will be among the first at the brand new WeStreet Ice Center. Tulsa will be in front of a global audience on ESPN as we host 128 knife throwers, 256 hatchet throwers, 128 big axe throwers and 128 duals teams from around the world.

  • Ice Slice Baby: WeStreet Ice Center is a 140,000 sq ft venue located near the former Promenade Mall. It will be home to the Tulsa Oilers hockey team and will have a full-service restaurant, sports bar, and virtual reality arcade. The World Axe and Knife Throwing League is excited to bring many from its membership of nearly 20,000 people to T-town.

  • ABC Easy as 123: The Associated Builders & Contractors of Oklahoma honored Manhattan Construction Group with two Excellence in Construction awards and the ABC Safety Training and Evaluation Process Diamond Award. This is Manhattan’s 25th year to be recognized by ABC’s STEP Awards program, a world-class safety management system that measures safety processes and policies.

  • Nice Digs: Muskogee Public Schools high school football stadium and field house and Santa Fe Square in Tulsa are two of the newly finished projects built by Manhattan that dazzled the construction community and resulted in the awards.
