From hot air balloons to dinosaur dance floors, there’s plenty of family fun set for Tulsa and surrounding areas this weekend. Here’s the rundown.
🎈Full of Hot Air: The 60th annual Green Country Balloon Festival benefiting the Gatesway Foundation will offer a sunset up high and family festival down low this weekend.
🏰Prepare for the Scare: The Castle of Muskogee will offer a nightly monster dance, indoor haunts, fireside storytelling, a petting zoo and some serious thrills of all levels.
🐯Let’s Get Wild: Put on your costume for the spooky but not too scary HalloZOOween at the Tulsa Zoo with goblin stops, haunted train rides and the creepy carousel.
🌧Bummer at the Barn: We’ve been telling you all about the fun at Tulsa Trails West happening this weekend but since it’s all outside, Mother Nature is shutting down the fun and it is closed for the weekend.
✈️Fly High and Rev Up: It doesn’t get much better than chili, cars and candy at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum where the beans are hot, the cars are smoking and the trunk-or-treat is sweet.

A Lake Skiatook Marina is Getting Attention for Huge Economic Boost
A beautiful spot for a staycation, Cross Timbers Marina is showing big growth.
Splash and Sleep: Cross Timbers Marina at Skiatook Lake has become a large tax generator for Osage County. Built in 2015, the marina offers a restaurant bar, great parking and gorgeous places to rent for entertaining and relaxing. It’s reporting earning some big bucks since opening. Owner Ron Howell says the marina's public-private partnership has brought in $251-Million dollars of property value to Osage County since 2005, up $235 million dollars from 2015.
Lovely Lake Levels: The private dock and growing tax generator sits on Skiatook Lake which is one of the newest lakes in Oklahoma that opened in 1984. Operators always have something fun brewing like 4th of July fireworks, corn hole competitions and lots of amenities for cottage renters. It’s offering half priced rentals now.

A Tiny Home Village Breaks Ground In Tulsa Aimed At Helping the Homeless
Eden Village will offer homes to the homeless with a full kitchen, one bedroom, one bathroom and a whole lot of community, dignity and security.
Homeless But Hopeful: Eden Village of Tulsa is an organization aimed at helping the homeless by giving them a place to get back on their feet. Four out of 63 tiny homes are already up in west Tulsa as part of the Eden Village tiny home community. Organizers held an official groundbreaking on Thursday.
Caring Community: More than a housing solution, Eden Village offers a community feeling for homeless people who need a fresh start. CEO Danny Stocksill said the first 10 homes are funded, and several businesses and foundations have set up matching donations through the end of the year. The Helmerich Foundation is matching donations up to $1 million, until the end of the year.
Check out the The 17-acre site is just west of the Gilcrease Turnpike by the Arkansas River, on 61st West Avenue.
