Falling For Comfort Food, Here’s a List of Tulsa’s ‘Best Restaurants.’

Palace Cafe’

Temperatures are falling and the soup is on! Here’s a list of 18 ‘Tulsa Best Restaurants’ for you to try this weekend.

  • French With a Twist: Tulsa food connoisseur Joan Richards has done the homework for us. She ranks Tulsa’s Best restaurants starting with downtown Tulsa’s French Hen Bistro. You can always catch a fabulous meal and some live music. The lobster risotto and duck two ways are fan favorites. Also downtown and 2nd on the list is Juniper where the roasted beet salad and duroc pork chop are the perfect blend of heart healthy and savory selections.

  • Spread the Love: The BBQ, soups, salads, wood fired pizzas, coconut shrimp and steaks are perfectly prepared all over Tulsa. Stop in at Utica Square for Polo Grill’s herb crusted lamb rack or pop over to Stonehorse Cafe’ for a flatbread or oh-so-awesome onion rings. You can run into the neighboring Stonehorse Market for some items to take home to your table top.

See the full list of lovely locations like Cherry Street’s Palace Cafe’ or Mother Road Market’s many restaurant menus HERE. Although Celebrity Restaurant is listed, it has closed but the memories will live on!

It’s Here. It’s Time For the Chicken Dance and a Taste Of Tulsa’s History In The Making Of It

Tulsa Oktoberfest

Climb up on the tables of Oktoberfest or climb up on your coffee table at home. It’s something to chirp about! Time for the chicken dance!

  • Who You Callin’ Chicken: We’ll go ahead and apologize now, but this one’s going to stick in your head. The chicken dance song was originally written in Germany in the 1950s, crafted from a tune from musician Werner Thomas. He initially named it "Der Ententanz" or "The Duck Dance." The Duck Dance crept over to America in the late 1970s. When a band playing Tulsa’s Oktoberfest in 1981 couldn’t find duck costumes and settled for chicken costumes, that’s when it all started.

  • Shake Your Tail Feather: It’s ok. Go ahead, flap your wings! Oktoberfest dances into Tulsa October 19th-22nd. Tickets and packages for the 44th annual tradition are already on sale. We will see you and your chickens on the dance floor!
