Tulsa’s Gathering Place Offers Free Fitness in the Park

The QuikTrip Great Lawn at Gathering Place is the place to be this spring!

  • Fresh Flex: The Gathering Place really knocked it out of the park with this one. Add fresh air and fun to your springtime routine with FREE fitness classes in the heart of the Gathering Place. Fitness in the Park will take place every Tuesday and Thursday in April and May at 6p.

  • Family Fitness: The whole family is welcome to burn some calories in the sunshine. Enjoy Zumba on Tuesdays and yoga on Thursdays.
    Fitness in the Park is open to all ages and abilities. In case of inclement weather, the classes will be moved to an indoor location.

Tulsa Police Department Graduates 18 New Officers

Tulsa streets have 18 fresh faces prepped to protect.

  • Proud Police: Tulsa Police Academy Class 127 officially has its badges. The latest class of rookies and 1 Fire Marshal with the Tulsa Fire Department finished their training and were sworn in by Chief Wendall Franklin. “Stay in the fight,” is their class motto.

  • Safer Streets: The rookies will now be assigned to Field Training Officers throughout the City and will be out patrolling on their own near the end of August. Despite the graduation celebrations, the Department says there’s still a great need. It is authorized to have 943 police officers and it’s currently down to about 800.

Tulsa Zoo to Host Ascension St. John ZooRun Saturday

The Tulsa Zoo is lacing up for the ZooRun Saturday.

  • Lace Up Llama: The Ascension St. John ZooRun is on! This year, runners can run wild in a 10k, 5K or a 1 mile fun run. All ages are welcome and this entry fee covers a whole lot of fun. Runners get a race t-shirt, race bib, finisher medal and access to post-race hospitality area.

  • Run Like a Gisele: Registration is open for the zoo run that lets you run among the animals and see the sights of the new 15,000 square foot Tropical Rainforest Exhibit. After the awards ceremonies, runners will be treated to snacks and sips, entertainment and activities that include a free day at the Zoo!
