Walk the Art Crawl Friday Night in the Tulsa Arts District

The First Friday Art Crawl is back and ready for you to shop, eat and take in the sights of the season

  • Get Your Walk On:  The Tulsa Arts District always has resounding restaurants, awesome art, interactive galleries and the best people, but the first Friday of the month is extra special. Walk through the District for their First Friday Art Crawl with live music and street side art sales.

  • Glow on the Green: The stars have aligned for this First Friday to also fall on ‘Lights On’ at the heart of the Arts District’s Guthrie Green. Different bands will play each hour starting at 6p. Red Dirt Rangers anyone? We will flip the switch on the holiday lights.

Kirkpatrick Heights Greenwood Master Plan Receives National Recognition

The Kirkpatrick Heights Greenwood Master Plan received the American Planning Association’s 2023 National Planning Award for Advancing Diversity and Social Change.

  • Plans and Promises: The proposed plan for the 56 acres of publicly owned land in Tulsa’s Greenwood District is called Our Legacy, Our Community for a reason. It was one of only four projects nationally recognized for demonstrating exemplary planning work in communities across the country.

  • Community Input On Point: The award cited good community input and outreach as The City of Tulsa has held several community input meetings on the plan. The development includes 950 residential units, nearly 11 acres of open space, civic space, retail and office uses, and grocery and fresh food opportunities.

Cain’s Ballroom Wins Award for Best Local Music Venue

The OG of Tulsa music venues has received another award for being a fan favorite.  

  • Fan Based Fun: Cain's Ballroom is one of five nationwide winners of the first "Hometowns of Consequence" campaign. It’s a campaign that lets the fans do the talking and voting. The campaign highlights America's best local music venues and national entertainment industry publications.

  • Historic High Notes: Cain’s has been hosting concerts and events for nearly 100 years and owners Chad and Hunter Rodgers say they are thrilled to have this award. “We really appreciate all of the support the fans and artists have shown Cain’s and our family during our time as caretakers of this historic, independent venue. We wouldn't be here without this community…”

Oklahoma Distillery Trail Features Two Tulsa Distilleries

This one’s for the grown-ups! As is if there’s not already enough to do and see in Tulsa, how about a distillery tour?

  • Test Your Tastebuds: Making whiskey, vodka and other libations is a fine art and we happen to have two of the best right here in Tulsa. Red Fork Distillery located along famous Route 66 is famous for two spirits: Reverence and The Heist. You can book a private distillery tour, it lasts an hour and ends with a taste test.

  • Distill My Heart: Over near the Pearl District there’s a distillery that will tempt your taste buds with some of the finest corn whiskeys and bourbons this side of the speakeasy. Gambills Distilling Company, formerly known as Oklahoma Distilling Company, offers charming tasting rooms, samples and a self-guided tour of the distillery.
