The Oil Capitol of the World is On Display With a Pop Up Museum in Downtown Tulsa
The 100 year anniversary of the very first international petroleum exposition in Tulsa is near. A black gold enthusiast has a pop-up display you won’t want to miss.
Black Gold Goodies: Once known as the worlds largest trade show, the international petroleum exposition took place in Tulsa for the first time in October of 1923. It seemed fitting for Jeffrey Tannehaus, owner and founder of Tulsa Tours to put a pop-up display in a building once owned and built by oilman Waite Phillips. “Many energy and supply companies trace their origins to early Oklahoma oil fields, even if those companies have since moved,” Tannehaus said.
Pop Into the Philcade: The pop-up museum features old posters, flyers and photos, many of which you’ll recognize today. Tulsa Driller ring a bell? It’s a trip down Tulsa’s memory lane for the whole family. The forgotten petroleum history museum will be on display indefinitely.

Old Oklahoma Main Streets Are Becoming the Best Sites for Tourism
Forget the slopes and the beaches for a bit. It’s time to gas up and go downtown!
Pretty in Pawhuska: When the Pioneer Woman moved into downtown Pawhuska in 2016, the town saw a huge increase in visitors from across the country. It doesn’t hurt that a ‘little’ movie staring Leonardo DiCaprio was recently filmed there either. Killers of the Flower Moon ring a bell? While we wait for the October 20th debut, here’s a list of Southern Living’s 11 things to do in Pawhuska.
Destination for Delectable Dining: TulsaPeople does a great job outlining 3 other downtown destinations. Miami Oklahoma is featured as a revived downtown hotspot with great restaurants, antiques and the gorgeous Coleman Theater. Sapulpa offers a bustling old oil boom downtown with Gasoline Alley, a gift shop inside a former Model T dealership. The Bartlesville boom is real and you won’t be disappointed with the flatbreads at Palace Rooms or the cold brew at Outpost Coffee.

Room For Cream Please! Local Collective Company is Making Sure Local Coffee Companies Have Room on Wal-Mart Shelves Too
Local Collective is bringing local to the masses and empowering local coffee roasters by giving them a way to be stocked on Walmart’s shelves in dedicated local sections.
Aroma Advocates: It’s definitely a two cup kind of day when you are a business owner and you want to get your products onto Walmart’s shelves. There’s a jolly java company that is helping local coffee businesses do just that. Simply put, Local Collective will help get coffee roasters’ products on Wal-Mart store shelves in the same neck of the woods as their coffee houses.
But First, Coffee: Local Collective has done the leg work of convincing Walmart of the importance of featuring a locally roasted section of coffee beans and other products on the coffee aisle. Topeca Coffee in Tulsa is pumped about the perk. “My Mother-in-law’s family has been growing coffee since about 1850. It is such an honor to now be able to work with Walmart,” said Topeca Co-Owner Chip Gaberino. If you live in the Tulsa area keep your eye out next time you pick up groceries, and you’ll see a variety of Topeca’s brews in the coffee aisle.

Tulsa Driller’s Baseball Getting Sold: Same Name, Same Location, Same Great Team
If they don’t win, it’s a shame! The Tulsa Drillers entered into an agreement selling a major stake to Diamond Baseball Holdings. Most fans won’t notice a change.
Take Me Out: Tulsa Drillers fans will continue to buy some peanuts and Crackerjacks and cheer on their local team at ONEOK Field, a crown jewel of the community and the club’s home since 2010, located in the historic Greenwood District of downtown Tulsa. ONEOK Field has introduced more than just baseball to Tulsa, playing host to college baseball, FC Tulsa soccer and concerts since opening.
Play Ball: Those involved with the deal say it’s a home run for the homeland. The Drillers will remain in Tulsa as the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and current staff will continue to be led by President and General Manager, Mike Melega. Leaders say the DBH ownership will provide long term security for the Drillers in Tulsa.
You won’t believe how many fans scored tickets to Drillers games at ONEOK Field. It’s the highest attendance in the Texas League.
