Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office Partners With Northeastern State University for Training

TCSO is fine tuning its public safety excellence.

  • Safe and Sound: The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office is excited to partner with Northeastern State University to train the next generation of leaders at the agency. Starting in April, NSU will be offering an eight-week online course that will focus on leadership in both the Detention and law enforcement career fields. Students will receive 3 hours of college credit, as well as 40 CLEET hours for certified Deputies.

  • Leading the Way: Over the course of the class, students will learn about the principles of leadership and how to apply them in their roles as leaders and future leaders at TCSO. Ten employees have already been approved to take part in the pilot program. Grant funding secured by NSU is allowing the leadership class to be free to both the students as well as the Sheriff’s Office.

Tulsa Botanic Garden Plans Sip and Stroll

  • Spring has Sprung: Join Tulsa Botanic Garden for it’s party celebrating spring among the tulips and other seasonal blooms. Seven local restaurants will provide sweet or savory bites along the path as you stroll past colorful blossoms and intoxicating fragrances. Sip on wine, beer or a signature cocktail, soak in nature’s ambience and stroll with your favorite folks in our garden wonderland.

  • Color Me in Sunshine: The party will be even MORE colorful with Nature POP! – an exhibition from artist Sean Kenney, featuring over 40 sculptures made from more than 800,000 LEGO pieces. Making its Oklahoma premiere at the Garden from March 16 through May 9, you’ll marvel at the artistry and engineering of these larger-than-life sculptures exploring the beauty of nature through contemporary, stylized, and colorful displays. Dozens of Jobs are Coming to Muskogee as a Cryptocurrency Mining Business is Built

Polaris Technology

A $100M investment is going into Muskogee bringing dozens of tech jobs to the area.

  • It’s Cryptic: A 200-megawatt data center is being built in the John T. Griffin Industrial Park in Muskogee. It requires a lot of power.

    The data center, built by Polaris Technology, is mostly made up of containers that house super-computers that solve complex puzzles to mine Bitcoin.

  • Power Up: The company hopes the data center’s capacity can eventually be extended to 400MW. Port Muskogee recently installed a new 1,000MW electricity substation nearby. Muskogee mayor Marlon Coleman said, “Polaris Technologies’ investment aligns with our vision to become a hub for high-tech, living wage jobs.” About 20 Jobs will initially be created.
