Tulsa Public Schools Announces Plans to Improve Attendance

Tulsa Daily

Everyday counts at TPS’s path to graduation, that’s why school officials are encouraging good attendance.

  • Beuller…Beuller: Attend to Win! is Tulsa Public Schools’ newly announced effort to combat chronic absences, which is defined as missing more than 16 days a year. The district joined forces with the City of Tulsa, families and many community partners to get students to school every day.

  • Making the Grade: Superintendent Dr. Ebony Johnson said chronic absenteeism is close to 40% percent in Tulsa Public Schools while the state average is 20%. Attend to Win! is expected to show the state board of education they are serious about fixing issues within the district and also show parents it matters when their child is not in school.

District leaders are asking for ideas to incentivize good attendance HERE.
