Tulsa Recycling Center Uses AI to Keep Up With Holiday Rush

Ever wonder where all those Amazon boxes that were torn into on Christmas morning go? Oklahoma's most advanced recycling facility is taking on your trash.

  • Trash to Treasure: Mr. Murph 2.0 recycling facility is processing increased volume of Green Country's holiday recyclables. The State's first mixed recyclables processing facility is equipped with state-of-the-art AI robotics and advanced optical sorters.

  • Sort the Stacks: American Waste Control said the facility will process more than 8M pounds of recyclables over the next few weeks. The Mr. Murph machine uses AI to process up to 53,000 pounds of recyclables per hour, five days a week.

Oklahoma Nonprofit Becomes First to Provide Children First Services

Some mamas and their new babies need a little ‘welcome to the world’ help and Parent Promise is doing just that.

  • Welcome Baby: Children First is a free program for first-time mothers in Oklahoma that provides home visits with specially trained nurses to mothers in early pregnancy and continuing through the child’s second birthday. The program is usually only offered to Oklahoma State Health Department clients, but Parent Promise announced it will be providing the program now.

  • Extra Mouth to Feed: Qualifying Clients are 185% below the federal poverty limit and less than 29 weeks pregnant at enrollment. The program founded in 1996 as Oklahoma’s first nurse-family partnership is growing. Parent Promise has three registered nurses with caseloads of about 25 each and is looking to expend.

University of Tulsa Working With NASA to Develop Satellite

Houston, we have no problems. The University of Tulsa announced it is working with NASA to broaden communication networks.

  • Giant Steps For Mankind: The University of Tulsa’s Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Peter LoPresti is working toward the launch of Oklahoma’s first CubeSat. It is a satellite that will provide reliable communication as NASA establishes stations on the moon and Mars, mines asteroids for minerals and explores the distant solar system.

  • Outstanding Orbit: TU is proud to be working on the project that will help study the transmission of data by laser beam between the earth and a satellite. CubeSat will be tested by researchers worldwide as the satellite orbits the earth.

Tulsa Based Equity Firm Invests in Two Oklahoma Businesses

Some Oklahoma industrial companies are excited that Argonaut Private Equity firm chose them to be a part of its fifth fund with $500M in capital commitments.

  • Investing in the Future: Since the Fund’s first close in 2022, Argonaut has continued to invest in industrial and manufacturing businesses. Tulsa Inspection Resources and Oklahoma City-based Chemoil Energy Services have received a piece of the pie.

  • Fully Funded: Argonaut exceeded its original goal of $400M this time around and has invested a total of $570M in equity into 19 Oklahoma companies since 2007.

Worlds Largest Augmented Reality Mural in Downtown Tulsa Attracts Visitors Nationwide

You simply can’t miss the beautiful art deco display at 4th and Main in downtown Tulsa.

  • Art in Motion: Unveiled in October of 2021, The Majestic is attracting crowds. Named after an old theater that used to be at the Main Park Plaza, The Majestic is a 15,000 sq ft mural that comes to life on your phone. Scan a QR code, and you'll see images in 3D and hear music.

  • Life in Color: The main display is the angel inspired by the Boston Avenue Methodist Church wearing a crown of Oklahoma roses and surrounded by native wildlife. The Majestic is best viewed from across the street, where signage will tell you where to stand and share a link to the augmented reality app.
