New Apartments Going Into Former Downtown Tulsa Hotel

Downtown Tulsa living is expanding again as the former Holiday Inn gets prepped for apartments.

• Luxury Living: Downtown Tulsa Partnership announced a Kansas City-based real estate development firm ApartmentVestors has purchased the former Holiday Inn building in downtown Tulsa with plans to turn it into market-rate apartments.

• Move in Ready: The former 224 room hotel building that sits at the corner of 3rd Street and Archer will hold 55 one bedroom units and 40 two bedroom units. Downtown Tulsa Partnership says this is great news if you are looking to move downtown where walkability is wonderful!

Tulsa Foundation Against Racial Violence Receives $2M Grant

The Terence Crutcher Foundation is counting its blessings with a newly awarded grant that will allow for more advocacy against racial violence.

• Gift of Greatness: Billionaire Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott gave $640M to hundreds of organizations across the country, and Tulsa’s Terence Crutcher Foundation will use its gift of $2M to create a new community space in north Tulsa.

• Silver Lining: The Terence Crutcher Foundation plans to refurbish the 65,000 North Pointe Building into a community center for non-profits, businesses, and restaurants. They’ve already replaced the building's roof, but HVAC work and other renovations are needed and this new gift will help make their plans permanent.

You had us as slow cooked, local soda-braised brisket. Red Dirt Burrito Company is now open at 6th St. and Boston Ave.

• Not Your Basic Burrito: Red Dirt Burrito sits in the former Sandos Rockin' Deli spot and while salads are still served, you might be up for a pulled pork burrito loaded with your favorite toppings. For sides, they have rice, beans, house-shredded white cheddar cheese and more.

• Vegan Variety: Not a fan of meat? Vegans will love Red Dirt's vegan chorizo and potato option. Red Dirt is owned by Tony and Emily Galvez and sits near their other restaurants, Copaneazi's Pizzeria and The Local Bison. It’s open for lunch Monday through Saturday and dinner Monday through Thursday.
