Tulsa Daily

AT&T says “We’re sorry” with a credit for customers affected by the cell service outage.

  • Can You Hear Me Now?: With more than 73,000 customers reporting outages at one point on February 22nd, AT&T says it wants to make it right. The company recognized the frustration the outage caused to small business owners and said it will reach out to potentially impacted customers and apply a credit to their accounts. They’ll get an average cost of a full day of service.

  • Cyber Secure: So what happened? AT&T says the outage was caused by the application and execution of an incorrect process used while working to expand the network, not a cyber attack. The company says customer data was not breached during the outage and those who qualify for a credit will see it in the next couple of business days.

Oklahoma Lawmakers Vote to Cut State’s Grocery Tax

Tulsa Daily

Load up the grocery cart! You could soon be paying less at the register.

  • Mouths to Feed: The Oklahoma Senate passed a bill on Thursday to eliminate the state's grocery sales tax. It’s now going to Governor Kevin Stitt's desk. "Today, we get to fulfill a promise to all four million Oklahomans and pass the largest single year tax cut in Oklahoma history. Cutting the grocery tax means relief for all Oklahomans,” Stitt said.

  • Stock Up: So how much savings will we actually see? The average person in Oklahoma pays about $300 a month for groceries, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. For a family of four, that comes out to $1,200 a month. In a year, that family will buy $14,400 worth of food at the store. Experts estimate about $400 in savings per year with the new tax cut. You could start saving as early as August.
