Neighborhood Beautifying Efforts Are Becoming Streamlined With New Tracking System
The Tulsa Planning Office announced a new tool called the Neighborhood Conditions Index to enhance neighborhoods throughout the City.
Won’t You Be My Neighbor: The Neighborhood Conditions Index or NIC is a map of sorts that sections Tulsa off into 80 different neighborhoods. Instead of labeling them broad areas like north Tulsa or midtown Tulsa, the map zooms in on specific areas for study. Based on the results, neighborhood improvements can be better made and tracked by City leaders.
Under the Microscope: The 80 areas are considered for improvement and a comprehensive report is generated that provides a data driven detailed look into the good, the bad and the ugly. The NIC collects data across nine categories: land use, parks and recreation, transportation, and culture.
