Calling All Artists! The City of Tulsa Wants an Underpass Mural

The City wants to make the Crosbie Heights underpass more vibrant and it’s calling on local artists to help.

• Saturated Street: A little more color is needed for the project that will welcome Crosbie Heights residents and visitors with a permanent artistic installation. The Underpass Project is expected to improve connectivity with downtown and improve the safety of the area through community involved artistic beauty.

• Prepare to Paint: City leaders are encouraging the artist or group of artists to work with neighborhood residents to come up with the design and installation. The ultimate artwork should include nods to neighborhood history and community storytelling.

2 Tulsa Museums Make USA Today’s Top 10 List for Best Museums in the Country

Philbrook Museum of Art is the 2nd best museum in the Country according to USA Today. 

• Marvelous Museum: We already know Philbrook is tops but it sure is nice to have a national audience again. USA Today released its top 10 lists for music and art museums. Philbrook fell just behind Detroit Institute of Art which holds the #1 spot.

• This Land is Your Land: Tulsa is also in the spotlight for having one of the best music museums in the country. USA Today named the Woody Guthrie Center the 4th best.
