The Concert Truck Is Rolling Through Tulsa

The Concert Truck
A concert on wheels is in Tulsa through Sunday with several opportunities to listen in.
Traveling Tunes: There’s no food on this truck, just the sweet tunes from the ivory keys. The concert truck is a 16-foot fully functioning portable piano music truck that has been traveling the country since 2016. Owners Nick Luby and Susan Zhang want to show music can be played in different ways by thinking outside the box truck.
Sensational Stops: The Concert truck has 9 free performances in 5 days in Tulsa. The tricked out truck has lights, a grand piano and a sensational sound system. Most of its Tulsa stops are at parks with plenty of room for folding chairs and picnic blankets. Bring the family, sit back and soak in the sounds.

Tulsa Mayor Pledges $1M to Youth Mental Health
Tulsa Daily
Speaking of mental health, Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum has pledged $1M in City funds to build a new center for help.
Rest and Recovery: It is estimated that 4,000 Tulsa County children attempt suicide each year and so far this year 1,300 youth in distress flooded local emergency rooms. Mayor G.T. Bynum announced the City wants to help in his State of the City Address. The City Council approved his plan to put $1M toward a youth crisis center that will be open all day, every day.
Social Dilemma: Mental health leaders blame social media comparison and cyber bullying on the mental health crisis in youth. Bynum says this model will be a one-stop triage center for families in immediate mental health crisis stating that children often wait for days or weeks for a hospital bed.
The total cost of the new center will be around $4.6M. You can read more about the effort HERE.
