Tulsa Drillers Opens ONEOK Field Today for Global Day of Unplugging

It’s time to unplug and unwind for Global Unplugging Day. Tulsa Driller’s is knocking it out of the park with a stroll in the stadium.

  • Reset and Remember: Tulsa Driller’s will open the gates of ONEOK Field from 11a to 2p today in hopes that you’ll show up to make some screen free memories with your friends and family. They’ve teamed up with US Cellular for Global Unplugging Day which encourages you to put devices away and play.

  • Take Me Out: Tulsa Driller’s season doesn’t start until April 9th but ONEOK Field’s beautiful playground will be open today. It’s ready for spinning, climbing and sliding - all cell phone free. So log off and make some laughs!

McNellie’s Pub to Offer Full Week of Events for 20th Anniversary

They say they are “probably Oklahoma’s best pub” and we say, take the “probably “ out! James E. McNellies Public House is celebrating 20 years.

  • What’s On Tap: McNellies is offering events starting Monday March 11th with a party offering special Guinness glassware. Drink the beer, keep the pint! They’ll hold collaboration dinners with other McNellies Group restaurants Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You can sign up for Beer University With Elliot (the owner) on Friday.

  • Patrick’s Pat on the Back: There’s a free Pre St. Patrick’s Day Block party on Saturday and the pot of gold is Sunday where the official McNellie’s Block Party goes green! This one is fun for the whole family. All ages are welcome until 6pm.

Tulsa’s Big Brothers Big Sisters Ramps Up Search for Mentors

It takes very little to be big. That’s the vibe at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma and leaders say you might be perfect for the job.

  • Bring on the Bruh: Tulsa’s Big Brothers Big Sisters pairs children in need of mentoring with a grown-up who has the skills to care, teach and connect. The pair will spend time together going to events and working toward positive ways to solve life’s little problems.

  • Sister From Another Mister: There are about 250 children in Oklahoma who have had adverse childhood experiences who could use a mentor. Children ages 6 to 16 can be a part of the program that is without enough ‘bigs’ right now. Think you might qualify? BBBS leaders say the time obligation is minimal but makes a big impact.
