Tulsa International Airport Installs New EV Chargers

Just in time for Earth Day, Tulsa International Airport opens up new electric vehicle charging stations.

  • Full Charge: TIA teamed up with INCOG, PSO, and Zevtron to install the chargers. The TIA parking garage now supports an extra 32 electric vehicles. The stations are all located on level one of the garage.

  • Pull Up, Plug In: Right now, there are more than 16,000 electric vehicles registered in the state of Oklahoma but only 975 charging ports across the state. TIA hopes you’ll charge up with them before you fly out.

Gathering Place Ramps Up Free Daily Activities

There’s something free to do for the family every day of the week at Gathering Place.

  • Dog Days: Summer is near and before you sign your kiddo up for camp, think about free fun in the sun at Gathering Place. Mondays offer free skills and drills basketball training. Tuesdays and Thursdays are for free fitness in the park. Wednesdays and Sundays are for all day dog play in the park.

  • Gather for Greatness: Exploration station happens today from 1p to 3p and Tiny Tulsa can be experienced on Saturday mornings. It’s a sensory inclusive free play program featuring low lighting, soothing sounds, creative toys and art activities.

City of Tulsa Releases 4 Requests For Proposals Involving Route 66

The City of Tulsa is looking ahead to the 2026 Route 66 Centennial and wants ideas for new attractions along the Mother Road.

  • Get Your Kicks: There’s nothing to cry about when it comes to celebrating Route 66 and it’s path through the heart of Tulsa. Cry Baby Hill is a big focus of the RFP. It’s a hot spot for Tulsa Tough spectators but the City wants a commercial development that provides retail and a possible hotel.

  • Digital Destination Dedication: The City is looking for a technology consultant to create a web and mobile product that educates the user and promotes Route 66. The ideal digital storytelling app would feature an outdoor museum with possible animation, 360 views, gamification and other features for the user via QR codes.
