HB2673 Passes House for Tulsa Museum OKPOP

Tulsa World
The Oklahoma House passed House Bill 2673 to support the completion of Tulsa’s Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture (OKPOP). The bill allows OKPOP to count binding multiyear pledges toward the $18 million it must raise by Nov. 15 to receive a matching $18 million from the state.
It also extends the fundraising window to include contributions dating back to 2021, allowing city and county funds to qualify. The measure, authored by House Speaker Kyle Hilbert, still requires Senate approval and the governor’s signature.
OKPOP is being developed by the Oklahoma Historical Society, which currently operates 25 museums statewide—none in Tulsa.
