Promenade Mall Macy's Slides into Second Life as a State-of-the-Art Ice Rink

WeStreet Ice Rink
Remember that old Macy's in Tulsa you haven't visited since '94? Well, get ready to lace up your skates because it's been revamped into an ice rink, thanks to some v. cool engineering.
Slippery Transformation: Inverted bowstring trusses skate around the norm, turning a department store into the slick WeStreet Ice Center; expect goals, not shoes. These trusses span 112 ft, creating a long-span roof system and a column-free space for the ice rinks.
Frozen Economy Boost: Ice rinks instead of racks? That's Tulsa's new formula for a mall revival, promising games and chilly shopping sprees. With a $25 million investment, the WeStreet Ice Center plans to score its goal of uniting the community and breathing new life into the local economy.

Sutton Center's Wild Party to Restore Feathers and Fun

George Miksch Sutton Avian Research Center
Welcome to the world of the George Miksch Sutton Avian Research Center's annual Wild Brew event, a feathery fiesta that aims to restore dwindling bird populations and educate Oklahomans about our winged neighbors.
Dance Of Survival: Thanks to Sutton Center's relentless conservation efforts, Attwater's prairie chickens are pecking their way back from the brink. Once spread across 6 million acres, these captivating birds dwindled to just 42 by 1996. Today, with its chicks aplenty, the Center is reintroducing them into the wild, ensuring that their unique mating dance continues to woo.
A Party with Purpose: The Wild Brew event, celebrating its 25th anniversary on Aug. 26th, is not only a wild time but, more importantly, a lifeline for birds like the Southern bald eagle, which the Sutton Center helped thrive. The event features an array of brews, including Dead Armadillo's Sutton Summer Wheat, live turkeys, a sculpting demonstration, and more.
Ready to raise a glass to conservation? Come tap into the greatest party ever hatched HERE.
