Public Service Company of Oklahoma Sends Winter Weather Safety Reminders

Damon’s Droneography

It didn’t get cold enough for Monday’s rain to turn into snow but there’s still a chance this week. Winter weather is here and PSO has some advice.

  • Potential Power Problems: PSO says it is monitoring the potential for winter weather across our area this week. The company said “We know you depend on us for power and we take that responsibility very seriously. If your power goes out, we are ready to restore it safely and quickly.” Here’s 4 steps to restore your power.

  • Weather Warning: In an e-mail sent to customers, PSO listed ways to prepare for Mother Nature’s negativity throughout winter. It says to have flashlights, batteries, water, blankets and medication on hand and don’t forget to download their app. We are a BIG fan of Meteorologist Travis Meyer’s very important tip: prepare the sleds!

Tulsa Botanic Garden

Talk about planting a seed! Construction on the Jim and Cherry Bost Arboretum is underway with plans for 100+ trees.

  • Sow Me a Story: Tulsa Botanic Garden planners hope the new arboretum will be the perfect place to gather on the greens with family and friends. The two acre project will include a mix of trees, shrubs, pathways, an entry donor plaza, and meandering walkways leading to a pavilion with a water curtain fountain.

  • Seed to Shrub: Plantings in the arboretum have been designed to provide year-round dramatic seasonal color and habitat for birds. 30,000 daffodils will be planted for early spring blooms. Cherry Bost gave the lead gift for the arboretum in memory of her late husband, Jim Bost.
